I can now get Hydrogen to be a MIDI input for an Ardour3 MIDI track.  I have tried a2j hoping it would 'bridge' other ALSA MIDI ports to make them available in Ardour3, like the MIDI ports of hardware keyboards (Axiom, etc...).  The goal being to play Hydrogen drums using the Axiom's drum pads while it is recorded in an Ardour3 MIDI track.
