Officially the Tascam FW-1884 support in ffado (www.ffado.org) is unknwon, which doesn't say a lot. But having had a look at the comments for the FW-1884, I found, that the last associated comment/mail was sent in 2008. The Tascam US-122 however is supported by ALSA and I've heard it discussed before on this list. Not being a piece of my hardware equipment, I didn't pay much attention though. :-( You could try to ask the ffado mailinglist directly for FW-1884 support or try their suggested route of asking Tascan, if their FW-1884 is supported under Linux. I hope, that someone here has better information. If it wasn't for the control surface part, I'd know a set of audio interfaces, that would work... Well, but let's look if you can't get everything you dream of first.
