Thanks for hints about ecasound and madjack, ill do some more checking
with these tools.

mplayer has a -slave mode where a running mplayer reads commands from
stdin.  Presumably it would be possible to set up a nc-based script or
something, to translate incoming OSC messages to commands sent to a
pipe.  Anyone tried this already?
