Umm... wow. "Pedestrian" ranks among one of the last words I would ever use for
Bach's music.
In grad school, I had a full-semester seminar on Bach's cantatas. I thought I
knew Bach before that. I was wrong.
I know, people have different tastes. I won't impose a taste in anyone else, but
I will say, if I couldn't hear and understand what Bach was doing, my life would
be poorer.
Amen to that. Bach and Charlie Parker never fail for me.
