That's the feminist motto these days: if you don't want to be a sexist, you have to openly invite women to participate in your project. You also can't claim that you already treat male and female contributors the same way, that would not be sufficient. So you are become non-sexist by making women a special case contributor. Except you can't call it that, because it would be sexism :) FWIW, equal rights and all that is a wonderful thing and very much worth the effort. But the ways to reach the social equilibrium are not always nice or logical.
