Not normalise, select the W channel only, zoom in on the direct sound
and put a marker on it. The other marker should be off. Shift-L-click
on the Gain/Norm button. The will normalise the energy in a short region
around the marker. 

Now since is this W, the level should actually be 3 dB lower. So set the
gain to 0.71 * the displayed value, and L-click on Gain/Norm. Then remove 
the direct sound etc.
