Thanks, nobody, for ANSWERING BOB's QUESTION.  Bob, I've listened to a Cloud ribbon mic; it had a nice low noise floor. Maybe not as smooth as an RCA, richer than a Royer. Prices around a grand on the street. I've used the Royer stereo ribbon quite a bit for NASCAR on CBS and Fox, as an ambience mic away from the track. Nice and hot for a ribbon. Haven't really had ears on any others.
