Heh, get out of my head :-)

I once bought a handful of the cheapy Behringer ECM8000 microphones as
part of sort of a craft project.

Of the four mics, bought at the same time from the same store, they
were four slightly different lengths (!).  Upon opening them-- all
four had different capsules and different PCBs with variants of the
same basic driver circuit.  Two were hand-soldered... badly; the
hand-soldered plastic SMT caps were partly melted.  Upon stripping the
finish of the mic bodies (like I said, craft project), all four were
different construction.  One was brass and zinc, one was zinc, and two
were aluminum.

To be fair, all four worked passibly well, and all four had the part I
was looking for.
