But the Multiface has ADAT too for only $800-900. And it has the computer uplink as well. It actually looks like it has more functionality than the ADI-8 (unless I'm missing something), since an ADI-8 can't be connected directly to a computer, but a Multiface can via RME's PCI-E card.

So why would I want an ADI-8? If it's possible to hook up a second Multiface to a first one's ADAT port and run the second one without a computer, then that seems like a much cheaper way to get 8 more i/o's.
