I wouldn't mind so much if it was an optional package you could install if *you wanted* to. [1] There was a problem where alsa used to mute the audio output on boot for a while. P.S. I don't use linux to create music, but then again, that is what I thought linuxmusicians was for. (eek! its a forum!
