As an aside, one possible way of dealing with this issue is to create your
own voices for applications like orca.

If you want a quick and easy way to get started with that process you can
run "AT Distro" in a virtual machine.

Otherwise you can go direct into orca too. As orca is scriptable it is
possible to create a singing voice. With some careful tweaking of the
voice parameters you might be surprised at how realistic it can be made to
sound.
