OK; my /proc/asound/cards file reads:
0 [NVidia ]: HDA-Intel - HDA NVidia
HDA NVidia at 0xfe024000 irq 21
1 [AF ]: USB-Audio - VF0560 Live! Cam Optia AF
Creative Labs VF0560 Live! Cam Optia AF at usb-0000:00:02.1-3, high speed
2 [M2496 ]: ICE1712 - M Audio Audiophile 24/96
M Audio Audiophile 24/96 at 0xac00, irq 16
and so obviously I want device 2 [M2496] listed above, and so
from the multiple choices given to me in xfce4-mixer, I choose:
"M Audio Audiophile 24.96 (Alsa mixer)". Still no audio.
The xfce4-mixer, then gives me a number of options, for the next four
choices:
IEC958: (PCM Out, H/W in 0, H/W in 1, H/W in 2, H/W in 3, H/W in 4,
H/W in 5, H/W in 6, H/W in 7, IEC958 in L, IEC958 in R, Digital Mixer)
IEC958: (ditto)
H/W: (ditto)
H/W: (ditto)
and presently, I have these choices:
IEC958: IEC958 in L
IEC958: IEC958 in R
H/W: IEC958 in R
H/W: IEC958 in R
Still no audio.
Any help would be appreciated. Should I be configuring things with something
other than xfce4-mixer. I am just going for simple play back for now. Thanks;
