Hmmm, your hardware's not 64-bit? If it is, why are you running
anything with PAE????

to see my entire 6Gb of RAM... but others have pointed out,
probably rightly, that i'm very unlikely to really need more than
3Gb anyways. so, for safety, i'll switch back to 3.0.6-avl-5 for
the time being.

sorry... that wasn't very clear, was it? the AVLinux distro is
32-bit, which is why i would require PAE to see all the RAM.

Oh, yah, sorry, I forgot about that senseless limitation of AVLinux.
That's why I don't use it. None of my 32-bit hardware supports
PAE, and the 64-bit hardware doesn't need PAE.

My 64-bit system has 12GB RAM, but it needs it for working with big panoramas. Probably the audio uses don't need that much for my simple uses.
