I think that in marketing 101 I learned that the adage "build a better
mousetrap and world will beat a path to your door" is just a bunch of
BS. If the world doesn't know about your mousetrap you're not going to
sell many of them. The course then went on to describe many such real
"mousetraps".

So, no advertising is not bad. It's quite necessary to get a message
out to the masses. Of course, if you don't care about the masses ...
don't bother to advertise.
