A couple of soundtracks that I liked enough to buy the CD's from
(although outside of your 10-year time period):

"Sling Blade" (Daniel Lanois)
"O Brother, Where Art Thou" (T-Bone Burnett)

Also, if you search on the NPR site www.npr.org , they cover soundtracks
regularly especially pre-Oscars and I almost always enjoy hearing their
analysis and background stories.
