Don't know about that. Only ones I saw required PAE, which neither of
my music laptops support. Also, I noticed that the AMD version also
requires PAE. Why would a 64-bit kernel need PAE?

It should affects MIDI timing. I mostly use MIDI, so I think it's a
feature that I'd try to have in my kernel.

Are you talking about the System Timer Resolution topic? That has nothing to do with PAE. I've been using Rosegarden for years without changing the system timer resolution from the 250Hz value, and never have any MIDI jitter problems.

There's nothing about PAE on that page.
