Hello Fred,

Mainline kernels are not RT patched but rtirq does work on those kernels if you add the threadirqs kernel option. And there is a real-time patchset available for the 3.0 kernel, haven't tried it myself as I'm using an older release of a well known distro and I'm quite happy with 2.6.33-19-realtime from Tango Studio.
