I assume that it wouldn't, that would be the whole point.
But Gnome3 does consume a gig of RAM. I don't really know why. It's not
launching a ton of background server processes like KDE4 does.

description seems very stripped back, and assumes the user is
interfacing via touch, so does uses only one mouse button etc etc.
Touch interface is good for some things. Not useful for all things (for
example, there is no way to "hover" over anything using a touch
interface). I don't think that an interface that's good for one will be
good of the other.
Personally, I think that the desktop Linux GUIs are way too late to the
mobile game. Android is the *Nix standard bearer in that field.
