I don't want to hear about your journey into the world of piracy.
But! try something like:

oggdec -o - 01.ogg | cat > FILE

followed by:

cat FILE | lame -h - 01.mp3

One of those should fail. I bet .01â on the second one.
If both work then burn your computer and try again.
