"banning immediately" is surely exaggerated. Off-topic threads are not a problem, but thread hijacking and spreading fear, uncertainty and doubt is; especially if the rant spreads over many pages and if there's plenty of main-stream media coverage and there are many better suited fori (forums) to discuss the issue at hand: Write a blog and send us a link.
