And all sound-devices then have to use that as well. Doesn't matter whether one device is only playback or only recording. All hardware-sample-clocks have to be synchronized unless you want to use alsa_in (or alsa_out) and have automatic resampling inserted into the chain. And if you want good quality, you don't want resampling. At least you don't want it added automatically without control... Have fun, Arnold
