Just a note for the future: You run dpkg-buildpackage in the root directory of the source tree.

The package there seems to be build from an out of date version of so-synth-lv2.  There have been bug fixes since.  Try downloading the latest package from github: http://github.com/jeremysalwen/So-synth-LV2/tarball/master
dl'd it thanks!

It includes the debian packaging directory, so all you need to do is run dpkg-buildpackage inside the directory to get a proper .deb.

tried dpkg-buildpackage and got this error:

kim@kim-studio:~/Desktop/downloads/jeremysalwen-So-synth-LV2-e399ee2/debian/source$ sudo dpkg-buildpackagedpkg-buildpackage: export CFLAGS from dpkg-buildflags (origin: vendor): -g -O2
dpkg-buildpackage: export CPPFLAGS from dpkg-buildflags (origin: vendor):
dpkg-buildpackage: export CXXFLAGS from dpkg-buildflags (origin: vendor): -g -O2
dpkg-buildpackage: export FFLAGS from dpkg-buildflags (origin: vendor): -g -O2
dpkg-buildpackage: export LDFLAGS from dpkg-buildflags (origin: vendor): -Wl,-Bsymbolic-functions
tail: cannot open `debian/changelog' for reading: No such file or directory
dpkg-buildpackage: error: tail of debian/changelog gave error exit status 1

how to fix this?

I'm trying to use the drone synth plugin SO-666 with Ardour

I installed it from the KXStudio repo
