Thank you! Would this require me to have a version of ardour compiled with vst-support (i'm not retarded lol im just thinking that the compiled ardour with vst-suport would be for windows-vsts)?

No LADSPA/LV2 afaik.
But there are two native Linux VST plug-ins that might be able to
achieve this:
Argotlunar: http://argotlunar.info/
