I recently purchased an Akai LPK25. USB-only, but it works OOTB, is
velocity sensitive, and has a nice arpeggiator. Its configuration
software works perfectly with wine on Ubuntu 10.04 (32-bit).
Second that too! I have its bigger brother (the MPK Mini) which works
like a charm (it's even got MIDI feedback!!). The keys are small
though but a lot better than those of the Korg nanoKEY.
One other nice feature of the LPK25: Its arpeggiator syncs to an
external MIDI clock source, e.g. Ardour3. I tested it yesterday, it
worked as advertised. However, AFAICT the only way to set the clock
source is via the software editor.
Best,
