Can ambisonics be used in a "handheld" configuration? I noticed that
Nokia has a phone with four speakers, which I assume would be for
positional sound effects in games:

I would imagine such a configuration would be able to "beam form" the
sound coming out of the device ( ala
http://www.meyersound.com/news/in_media/ball_of_sound.pdf ), but I'm
not clear on how it would actually work in positioning sound "around"
a user looking at a handheld device. But perhaps the "beam" moving
around your head is what gives a positional effect?
