The very quick summary is that (a) they don't believe there is much of a market (b) supporting Linux as a generic entity with commercial software is way, way too much work (as I can attest with some attempts at this with Ardour). There's not much point in arguing either of these items because their assessment of things is not likely to change any time soon.
