Hm, can't you use asa midi for the main MIDI tracks, thereare still so many aps, which use alsa midi. JACK midi is coming along, but mostly I've seen it as an alternatie. So you could use midish or whatever for record/playback and jackmidi only for the synching bit, because the clock application only understand jackmidi.
