With all the (predictable) discussion here about the mechanics of playing that video (it wouldn't fast forward or rewind for me in mplayer except in huge, like 1 minute chunks), I think we missed the big picture which is:

This is a FREAKING AWESOME mini-lecture. Stunningly well done. A lot of the audio stuff was not new to me, but I thought it was presented extremely well: accurate, informative, clear, and entertaining. It's very hard to hit all those at the same time.

The video portion was mostly new to me-- explaining things I'd used for years without understanding what/why they were--, and I very much enjoyed it.

Nice job. I also liked the little political statement at the beginning too. Indeed, this technology has been under the control of large corporations (and their patent lawyers) for way too long. Glad to see something like this encouraging us unwashed masses to get involved in it.
