you may be right, cause also the x is eating like 10 times more cpu once the stretchplayer is started.

This isn't a fix... but perhaps a "proof-of-fix." The attached patch will throttle the GUI. Can you guys try it out and see if things improve?

unfortunately still the same error here:

JackPosixSemaphore::TimedWait err = Unterbrechung während des Betriebssystemaufrufs
SuspendRefNum error
JackClient::Execute error name = StretchPlayer

i applied the patch on the fresh 0.501 source and did not used the stretch-zombie patch. indeed, with this patch htop shows that stratchplayer and x are using about 5% of my cpu (1.4GHz) each.
