hmm. when i'm trained up, i can generate about 240W for an hour, and
at that point in the year, 100W is basically a "do nothing" state.
world-class Ironman racers and crazy 100 mile time-trial cyclists
generate 250-300W for 3.5-5 hrs. so your number must reflect
an untrained, rather unfit human being or must mean something other
than what i understand it to mean.
I think that figure goes back to the days of farming with draft animals,
as in "One horse can do the work of 20 men". So 'sustained' in this case
means 'every daylight hour in a six-day work week'.
