fwiw, i've been over that article and deleted both the notability tag 
(which was uncalled for to begin with, more a symptom of the general 
messiness of that article), and the missing citations tag (after adding 
copious amounts)...

however, there are still a number of unverified claims, some even newly 
added by yours truly, so a few more secondary sources couldn't hurt.

does anyone know how one starts a new category in wikipedia? i think 
that applications list is superfluous, unmaintainable, out-of-date, and 
out-of-place. the article would be better served with a new category 
"Apps that support JACK" or something, and a link to the category index.
