Florian knows a lot about the RME stuff, he helped me out some time ago - he may know from other folks' experiences... I assume (but don't know) that you would get the computer that you're willing to pay for. I personally use a Sony Vaio Z which is NOT the cheapest but it just works and everything just works (hardware wise). There was a list some time ago in the german news magazine 'spiegel on-line' with the most and least reliable laptops, if I remember well. Sony was on top (Apple was 2nd), one of the big Taiwanese brands was on the other extreme.
