But apart from having a singer who knows how to perform in front of a mic, or using a mic designed to handle singers who don't have that capacity, it is the only solution. If pops are a problem that means they have overloaded the mic, the preamp, the AD converter or any combination of these, and there's no way to remove them using just signal processing.
