I have found, multiple issues related to CPU scheduling were fixed in kernel
2.6.31.3. IIRC, the problem arised approximately when I upgraded the system to
2.6.31.2, so, I hope, 2.6.31.3 will cure the issue.

That was fast, but good to know. I myself was just preparing my menu.lst to boot to a .2 kernel =/
