This is true and I've brought it up several times on the JACK list. I
hope this one day will get fixed and that some kind of looping mechanism
enters JACK.

I'm working with supercollider and the only thing I can do, is send OSC
messages to a JACK TRANSPORT deamon to relocate. This works to some
degree, but it's not exact.
