I'm a newbie and I initially joined this list to get help setting up my Phonic Helix Board 24 with ffado and Linux. I didn't really have any interest in MIDI or synthesisers, but since then I've read loads on this list about that and I'm starting to get interested. But I don't know where to begin, what I would need, etc. I know there are loads of howtos on various websites, but a video guide would be great - so much more absorbing and easier to follow. How about quick introductions to some of the more popular notation editors? I'm still using a Windows notation editor under wine rather than making the jump to a native Linux one, as they all seem to involve a fairly steep learning curve.
