Not sure where this comes from - either the Gnome 2.26.1 desktop or the
ArtistX remix, but this particular varietal of WINE is simply
phenomenal. I don't run Windows stuff but just fired up my GPS and
mapping software along with a few things I checked out recently for
friends, and discovered how complete, functional, and integrated this
support now is.

Right-click on any Windows executable and "Open with WINE program
loader" is sitting right there. Install something and it shows up both
in the Other category of the general menu as well as in the separate
Wine sub-menu.

Everything JUST WORKS, and in this case the Magellan applications
installed completely uneventfully, appeared in the menus and even as an
icon on the Gnome Desktop, if desired, ran with all features active, AND
saw the presence of this old serial bus device, supporting uploads and
downloads as if I were running Windows itself.
