ffado is in the moment jack only ... but there is some development to 
integrate ffado in a way that it also can provide alsa devices.
you should try if your firewire is working with ffado some people have 
problems because of fw-chipsets and/or irq-sharing ... these problems 
are not ffado/linux related but hardware problems.
