That's very true, OTOH users will appreciate it if this is a
run-time option rather than compile-time.

It's sort of normal with this kind of instruments, and part of
their 'personality'. Adding some reverb, even if quite low-level
and short will change it a lot. When you play an instument like
this live it shouldn't be problem, and when recording it's the
sound engineer's job to add some 'life' to it.
