Nope, no JACK.
Make sure you have snd_rawmidi, snd_seq_midi_event and snd_seq_midi  
loaded in your kernel (lsmod | grep midi) and you have rights to use  
/dev/snd/midiC0D0.

Edit the default.cfg file and change midi.device to /dev/snd/midiC0D0,  
change any other value you feel like and start it.
It'll display the currently loaded "patches" which you can use by  
changing the sound on your MIDI keyboard to that value.
