I should add that starting pulseaudio from the command line gives: W: alsa-util.c: Device hw:1 doesn't support 44100 Hz, changed to 16000 Hz. W: alsa-util.c: Device hw:1 doesn't support 2 channels, changed to 1. where hw:1 is my mike. The same works whatever I put in /etc/pulse/daemon.conf. I guess the mike just only provides one sample rate. So, how can I make the rest of my system etc. use 16000 Hz? 2009/2/19 David Hugh-Jones <davidhughjones@xxxxxxxxx>: > That sounds about right... it isn't actually just skype, I have the > same problem recording sound in audacity. > > Can anyone point me to a way to set the recording frequency for my USB mike? > > Cheers > David > > 2009/2/19 drew Roberts <zotz@xxxxxxxxxxx>: >> Sounds like what I have had happen when my sound card was set for one >> frequency and my program for another.
