Oh it's simple, just let it look like that: INSTALLPATH=$(DESTDIR)/usr/local/bin/ In the case $(DESTDIR) isn't set, it would'nt influence the installation, if a package-builder use the makefile, the installation go's in the package to $(DESTDIR).
