What does "these days" mean in terms of hardware? The laptop is running 
a 1.5GHz Celeron M (the Celeron that's a kind of cut-down Mobile Pentium 
4, with way too small a processor cache for the P4 architecture). 
Effective throughput is about the same as a 1GHz non-M Celeron.
