Yep, that's what I use -- CC#7 for overall track volume and CC#11 for
individual notes. But... use whatever works for you! I guess the
deciding issue is if you use #7 for notes, then later decide you need
to raise the overall level of the track, how do you do it? You'd have
to edit all of your CC#7 automation.
