I tried to get Audacity (1.2.6) to behave nicely on my eee 901 and the results were interesting: small stutters every few seconds when playing back, even when I covered the window with a terminal to prevent screen updating. I could see the cursor stopping in sync with the stutters, too. No tweaking module parameters or choice of playback devices fixed the problem. Recording seemed to work fine. All the Xandros-shipped programs I tried did play audio without any problems, and I can even watch a DVB recording in fullscreen for minutes with perfect sound, which to me says the interrupt problem shouldn't be that serious. I wonder what Audacity does differently from those other alternatives? These are just a few observations, I'm probably not going to use my Eee much for anything audio-related, so please spare me the messages on upgrading kernel, distro or hardware.. I know about those options already ;) -- Raine M.
