The quality doesn't matter. I need to buy the pci card, as there is no onboard 
sound (yes, it sounds strange, but the box is a 5u rack-mount HP server). 
If i understand the jackd correctly, it should pick up the correct number of 
outputs, unless defined otherwise. So I'll be able to route my app's ports to 
the individual channels of the sound card.
Anyone has an experience with Terratec 7.1? It looks pretty good, ice1724 or 
cmi8768 chipset for fair price. Alsa matrix suggests it should work.
