Yes and no. An adaptor sounds like a good solution to be flexible. But keep in 
mind that these mini-plugs (like the 6.3mm plugs) don't have locks. So if in 
doubt these connections are flexible. Even if you don't want them to be. :-)
Thats why I soldered real XLR-plugs to my mic. Of course mine was bought from 
ebay, so no warranty voided...
