No I don't mean 3/4 or 4/4.

1         2           3         4          |    1        etc.

1-2-3 1-2-3   1-2-3  1-2-3          1-2-3

In blues they play often 1-*-3 1-*-3 1 etc
* = no hit


or

1             2          3               4          |   1       etc.

1-2-3-4 1-2-3-4 1-2-3-4 1-2-3-4        1-2-3-4
