Most simple midi dongles will work with the snd-usb-audio driver: http://qbik.ch/usb/devices/search_res.php?pattern=midi+interface Get one that doesn't require any firmware unlike some of the Midisport interfaces. Edirol/Roland's UM devices are a safe bet.
