   Well I think it depends. If you're pretty sure, your mix will be around in 
mono somewhere, then you should probably not do it. Otherwise: i didn't listen 
to the effect, I'll try it.
   But I would suggest using the SWH LADSPA plugins, they have a stereo-width 
plugin:
matrix_spatialiser_1422.so
   It simulates a different recording technique with two mics, on (I think 
mono) directed towards the source and a figure-eight microphone orthogonal to 
the other.
